The two video editings entitled Kintsugi (金継ぎ) operate on the principle of the diptych. By simultaneously deploying two excerpts from the film that loop on themselves, they confront very close film shots in their composition which, to one or more details, can give the illusion of having been taken up as they are.
In Kinstsugi 一, this dialogue is built between shots of the same film of Ozu to better highlight the echo games which are part of its narrative structure (unlike Kintsugi 二 where it used two different films of the director). While working on forms of porosity from one film fragment to another likely to propose new forms of stories, it nourishes a disturbing impression of déjà vu which invites new perceptions of passage of time.
